Boxing in O-Town

Boxing in O-Town

Orlando is once again starting its foray in professional boxing in Central Florida.

Recently “Danger Promotions” put on an event at the Orlando Live Events Center in Casselberry. Fight night included six bouts with local fighter Craig “Danger” Duncan featured as the main event.

This venue is set up pretty well for the casual boxing fan with an arena like setup. Keep in mind this venue was the original Jai Alai court in Central Florida, so the seats rise as they fade back. It’s exactly like watching a movie at a theater, except this is live and it hurts. You are so close you can hear the punches landing and the fighters talking trash to each other in the ring.

Its great to see local promoters making a push once again in our area, and this opens up the local boxing scene to both fans and professionals alike. Orlando features a ton of great up and coming fighters and plenty of professional gyms.   Erickson Lubin, Dennis Galarza, Miguel Cruz, Noemi Bosques and Jean “Chapito” Rivera included.

UFC professional fighter Mike Perry is also bringing his talents to the area and will be featured in this weekends UFC fights in Orlando.

Those interested will also be glad to hear that AllStar Boxing will be featuring their next Boxeo Telemundo Live bouts this weekend at the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, we will be there to cover so keep checking back here for updates. Doors for that event open at 7:30 and these are the best events within 100 miles of Orlando.
